Melani Sabhaney

UAE-based design director and co-founder of Interspace, Melani Sabhaney is everything, but your typical interior designer. Melani’s no-frills and no-nonsense attitude define both her personality and design practice.

Soon after graduating from BMS College of Architecture in Bangalore, Melani decided to start her practice, learning to manage the design, clients, and the business the hard way – as she went along. Always hungry for new experiences and challenges, Melani then moved to Dubai in 2001 working for the National Engineering Bureau, as one of its very first employees.

In 2005 , Melani and Paul started Interspace, and haven’t looked back since.

Today, after working more than 27 years in the field of architecture, design, and build industry, Melani brings extensive hands-on experience in delivering complex, turn-key projects across residential, retail, and hospitality sectors in the GCC, India and the Far East.

With our expertise and in-depth knowledge, the team at Interspace has delivered some of the landmark projects in the UAE and India, including the First-class Emirates Lounge, interiors for Double Tree by Hilton Beach Resort (Ras Al Khaimah), Hotels for Flora Group and more than a 100 showrooms for the Jewelry Group, Malabar Gold and Diamonds, among others.

Melani has worked on numerous projects in the UAE and India, including the Headquarters for Emirates Airlines (Dubai),Interiors for Hilton Beach Resort (Ras Al Khaimah), schools for UAE’s leading education brand GEMS and Pepsi headquarters in Bangalore, among others.

Melani is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and executive committee members of the recently formed Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID) Dubai chapter and a Member of the Society of Engineers , U.A.E.

Paul Ninan

Paul Ninan , brings with him over 30years experience in project management and civil works management.

Having done his BSc in Calicut University followed by Civil Engineering in Bangalore University .He holds an MBA in Total Quality Management. Has been in the Dubai Construction industry from year 1991.

With his extensive knowledge of the construction and civil engineering industry in the UAE having been instrumental in the delivery of number of landmark projects such as The Grand Hyatt Dubai , Jebel Ali Racecourse, Twin Towers in addition to numerous Residential Complexes.

He is thorough in his approach to design and the implementation of projects, with a keen eye to detail and an equally keen insight into client relations and management.

Paul is a member of the Society of Engineers , U.A.E
